PETA Offices

ThePETA Office Space

(4th Floor)

Most of the past office locations were rented houses. Eventually the office was referred to as the “PETA House”. As most rented houses go, the structure would have several rooms and the benefit of a “homey”, informal ambience. Conversely, it would also compel one to search and navigate through a maze to find a coworker. The offices at the Theater Center were meant to achieve several objectives. First was to create a smooth flow for staff through the use of low partitions within a common room as in the 2nd floor Resource Center, Accounting and Executive offices, or as in the 4th floor offices that host all the program units. The second aim was to recreate a relaxed and comfortable work environment by keeping the rooms less cluttered, open, and bright. Similar to the creative and learning spaces elsewhere in the Theater Center, the offices also have a suspended steel grid above and bright painted walls to give a larger sense of space, control, sound and maintain a clean contemporary look.
